Grand Rapids, MI, September 30, 2021, – Grow Hub GR, Grand Rapids, only female-owned and family-owned, purpose-driven business incubator and co-working business space, will be hosting a special event, celebrating diversity, inclusion, and equity month. Located on the westside of Grand Rapids, GrowHub GR will transform into a local art hub from October 1 to October 30, in celebration of local artists of color.

The GrowHub GR grand opening and community showcase will take place on Wednesday, October 20 from 5 – 7 p.m. The FREE event, to coincide with National Unity Day 2021, will serve to highlight and promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion within our community.

“In today’s tumultuous world, it is more important than ever that we come together to focus our energies on promoting an all-inclusive and equitable community for all,” said Stephanie Kolakowski, founder and managing director of Grow Hub GR. “My vision for creating Grow Hub GR was to provide a safe, supportive and nurturing environment that would facilitate personal growth and professional development in Grand Rapids, providing access and opportunity for families and individuals to grow and thrive in life and business. Together we work collaboratively within our business hub to seed growth and connect people, planet, profit, and purpose here locally and across our world. I believe this vision is now a reality.”

The community showcase and art exhibition will feature the work of local artists of color, including Lowell Reynolds, Steven Reynolds, Isabel Lopez-Slattery, Ryan Crawley and Alfield Reeves. In addition to the art exhibits, the event will feature local entrepreneurs such as area chefs, food entrepreneurs and complimentary refreshments.

The event will also provide a platform for local diversity groups and organizations to share their inspirational stories of overcoming challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, several Grow Hub GR partners will also be in attendance, including Grow Business Today, Blue Pathways, B&J Enterprises, Thrive Acquisition and Shield Private Investigation.

“We have created something very special here at Grow Hub GR and I am excited to open our doors and showcase our space to all members of our community,” said Kolakowski. “I am very proud of the overwhelming interest and support the Grand Rapids region has shown Grow Hub GR and it is my pleasure to show my appreciation by welcoming everyone to this community showcase.”
